Welcome to Dunbar Middle School
 I am pleased to welcome you to the Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School website. This site will provide you with a sense of Dunbar’s vision and goals.
Dunbar Middle School is “The School on the Move Toward Excellence.” With this in mind, we strive for a standards-based curriculum, high performance instruction supported by technology, success for all students, and a cooperative approach with staff, parents, partners and support services.
We provide the frame work for a total village approach where respect, responsibility, and relationships can flourish.
Our students are afforded the opportunity to participate in various community projects and self-discovery ventures. We encourage their natural curiosity and wonder.
In much the same way that caterpillars change into butterflies, we watch as our students transition from elementary personalities into scholars ready for the world of high school. Welcome to our website and to the Dunbar community.
